Atlas Group is currently hiring a Gas Pipeline Distribution Laborer to work in WV. Laborer Duties include assisting in the repair, maintenance, construction, installation, and fusion of plastic pipe. The role requires physical capability to identify and solve potential problems, enforcing company policies and safety procedures, and interacting with customers, and the team. The laborer must ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations for the crew and the public.
Main Responsibilities:
- Help the crew towards goal achievement.
- Plan, and organize daily work.
- Identify potential problems; develop and implement solutions.
- Enforce Company policies and standard work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment problems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment is completed.
- Interact with customers at the worksite/residence.
- Escalate minor customer complaints and inquiries to the superintendent or general foreman.
- Complete project paperwork as required by the customer.
- Perform excavation spotter activities as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Assist others as needed during idle periods or when your primary tasks are completed.
- Properly lift tools, objects and equipment of varying weight.
- Compress soil and asphalt.
- Shovel material, soil and cold patch asphalt mix.
- Operate vehicles used for hauling.
- Assist in reclamation.
- Score and break asphalt or concrete with a jackhammer/ saw.
- Repair backfilled trench areas with grass seed or asphalt.
- Travel frequently within the area for work assignments.
- Successfully pass customer-required computer-based testing (Operator Qualification courses).
- Keep tooling clean, and organized.
Work Schedule:
- Typically, Monday to Friday with 10-12 hour workdays (Weather Dependent).
- Occasional work on Saturdays may be required.
- Occasional travel is required; we prioritize staying as close to ‘Home’ as possible, but flexibility is essential as we must go where the work is
- No work on Sundays.
- No work on most calendared holidays.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years’ experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- 1 year of outdoor work or manual labor experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and a DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment.
- High level of personal integrity and accountability.
- Must pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer’s operator qualification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of utility construction experience.
- Class A or B CDL preferred.
